Colin McBride - First Team Manager

Colin McBride – manager – joined Purfleet as a midfield player in August 1985, and made his debut against Canvey Island on 24/8/85 (won 3-0) in the Essex Senior League. He made 227 appearances and scored 32 goals. He then joined Concord Rangers and returned to Purfleet as manager in August 1997, his first match in charge being a 0-0 draw with Yeading. After 524 matches in charge at Thurrock, he joined Hornchurch for the 2006/07 season, winning the Isthmian League North and Essex Senior Cup, and was Manager of the Month for December 2006 and April 2007, as well as being named Manager of the Year. |

Bill Lappage - Specialist Coach

Started at Dulwich Hamlet in 1951 and "retired" from Croydon FC in 1998 - in the years between served at seven different clubs involved as player and Assistant Manager/Coach. In this time Bill helped to bring home seven League Titles (two League and Cup doubles!) and eight Cups. Joined Colin McBride at Purfleet (now Thurrock FC) in 2000. Most memorable matches were the two F.A. Cup 1st Round games (both televised) against Luton and Oldham. Bill followed Colin McBride to AFC Hornchurch and had another great season seeing the Club winning the League Title and Essex Senior Cup. |

Jamie Southon - Specialist Coach

Jamie Southon – Defender – Jamie was with Norwich City as an associate schoolboy, and in 1989/90 transferred to Southend United, making one first team appearance in 1992/93. He has played for Purfleet, Dagenham & Redbridge, making eight appearances in 1995/96, and then joined Purfleet, scoring twice in ten appearances, before going to Grays, and then to Hong Kong club Sing Tao. When he returned from Hong Kong he rejoined Grays Athletic and then signed for Chelmsford City in November 1996. He went to Enfield in July 1997 on a monthly contract, and rejoined Purfleet in September 1997. In six seasons in his second spell, he scored 22 times in 283 appearances. Joined the Urchins in February 2003, and went on loan to St Albans City at the start of 2004.05. He returned from loan in November 2004, and played 23 + two subs and scored twice, and was named player of the year. Joined Cambridge City in June 05. Scored one goal in 16 starts plus 7 sub appearances, and moved to Chelmsford City in mid season. Re-joined Hornchurch for 2006/07. Debut at Enfield Town. Appearances 41. |

Donny Barnard - Defender/Midfield

Donny Barnard - defender / midfield - 23 year old Ex-Leyton Orient defender and midfield star. Donny graduated from the O's youth team making his first team debut in the 2001/02 season. He played in 94 first team games for the O's scoring one goal. He was released by Leyton Orient in May 2007 and joined Conference National Club Grays Athletic in August 2007. He made four first team appearances for them before being released one month later. He joined AFCH on 8th October 2007. |

Darren Behcet - Goal Keeper

Darren Behcet – goalkeeper – First played senior football at West Ham United but after his release in June 2006 joined Yeovil Town. Though he did not make the first team, he had plenty of experience whilst with West Ham when he played five league matches on loan to Cambridge United. With Yeovil, he had loan spells at Dorchester Town and Bognor Regis Town. In November 2008, he joined Sutton United, and after five appearances, he signed for Grays Athletic on non-contract terms, before joining Hornchurch, making his debut at home to Canvey on 31st January.

Michael Bowditch - Goalkeeper - Young keeper who joined at the beginning of the 2008/09 season from Burnham Ramblers. Michael did make one appearance in an Urchins shirt in the 2007/08 season, helping us to victory in the Capital League President's Challenge Cup Final with two saves in a penalty shoot-out. |

Billy Coyne - defender - was with Arsenal, before joining QPR, where he played in their youth team and reserves. Joined Hornchurch August 08. Debut v Staines 30/8/08. |

Mark Goodfellow - Midfield

Mark Goodfellow – defender – Started with Leyton Orient at youth level and joined Purfleet in March 2001, and was both the Supporters and Players Player of the Year in 2002/03. Although he missed the last few months of 2004 when he sustained a fractured ankle, he made over 200 appearances for Purfleet / Thurrock before joining Welling Utd in July 2006, making 30 appearances before signing for Tonbridge Angels 2007/08. Joined Margate December 2007 and made seven plus one substitute appearances. |

Bradley Gray - Forward

Bradley Gray – forward - Bradley was with Swindon Town, before joining Leyton Orient. In his first season he scored eight goals for the reserve and youth teams. He was named amongst the substitutes for the penultimate League One at Swansea City and made his first team debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over Southend United in September 2008. On loan to St. Alban’s in 2007/08 (two goals in five appearances) and had a loan spell at Grays in October 2008, (two appearances), before going back on loan to St. Alban’s City (five appearances, one goal) to gain experience. Joined Hornchurch January 2009. |

Dean Green - Midfield

Dean Green – midfield - Dean played for Waltham Abbey in 1998, and scored a hattrick when they beat Bedfont in the London Senior Cup final. He then went to Farnborough and also Dulwich Hamlet. Following a spell at Waltham Forest, he went to Staines and joined Hendon in September 2006, and made 55 appearances for Hendon, scoring 12 goals. Joined Hornchurch in November 2007. |

Mark Janney - Midfield

Mark Janney – midfield - was released by Tottenham Hotspur in September 1997 and following a spell on loan to Brentford, he joined Dagenham & Redbridge. He broke into the first team but pulled a hamstring and missed for the rest of the season. Spent two months on loan at the start of 1999/2000 to Braintree Town as he recovered. Again secured a regular place in the first team, until he left at the end of the 2004-05 season, briefly playing for Maldon, before joining Heybridge Swifts, and then signing for Thurrock in October 2005, where he made 30+1 appearances and scored two goals. Urchins debut was at Enfield Town, appearances 52, goals 20, scored on his debut, and also won the Golden Boot award 2006/07 for the most goals in the FA Cup, scoring eight in five matches. |

Kris Lee – forward – Kris played for Tiptree Heath and Tiptree United before joining Heybridge Swifts. He joined Chelmsford City for 2001/02 and joined Purfleet in October 2002 and made his debut against Aylesbury on 26/10/02. He made 130 appearances and scored 21 goals. He then joined Heybridge Swifts and then Maldon Town, rejoining Thurrock in January 2006, scoring seven goals in 26 appearances for Thurrock. Urchins debut at Enfield Town, appearances 52, goals 30, winning the Golden Boot March 2007. |

Jimmy McFarlane – defender – signed from Thurrock May 06 – joined Purfleet in August 1991, from Clapton. Made his Purfleet debut against Southall on 17/8/91 and scored 75 goals in 634 appearances. In August 1996 he joined Concord Rangers and returned to Purfleet for the 1997/98 season and was made their club captain. He has also played for Millwall Wanderers. Debut for Hornchurch against Great Wakering. In 2006/07 he made 56 appearances, scored six goals and was both the players’ and supporters’ Player of the Season. |

Simon Parker – forward – Started out at Whitton United and Stowmarket Town before joining Heybridge Swifts, where he scored 27 goals in the 2000/01 season. Transferred to Gravesend in January 2002 and helped them to win the Ryman League title. Signed for Kettering Town in October 2002 after moving to study at Nottingham University. Re-joined Gravesend in February 2003 and then returned to Heybridge midway through the next campaign before signing for Southern League newcomers Maldon Town in June 2004. Joined Thurrock in March 2006 and scored three times in six appearances. Debut for Hornchurch at Enfield Town, 29 goals in 49 appearances, winning the Golden Boot in December 2006. |

John Purdie – defender - John signed from Thurrock in June 06. He joined Purfleet in July 1997 from Billericay Town, and made his debut on 16/8/97 against Yeading. He has made 362 appearances for Purfleet / Thurrock. Previously with West Ham United where he was a regular member of their reserve side. Club captain, debut for Hornchurch at Enfield Town, 51 appearances, and scored against Ilford in the final match of the season, his first goal for eleven years. |

David Sadler – forward - A former England Schools captain who re-signed for Dr Martens Premier side Hinckley United after a spell in the Ryman Premier with Kingstonian. Signed for the K's from Hinckley in August 2001 for a reported.£10,000 fee. Was voted Hinckley's supporters Player of the Year 1999/00. Previous clubs include Derby County as a trainee, Luton Town and New York State. Transferred to Cambridge City in May 2004. For 2005/06 David was out of action with a long term knee injury and made nine appearances, plus six substitutes, and scored five goals. Played one match on loan to Concord Rangers August 06 to get some match practice following another minor injury. Made his debut at Aveley in August 06 – appearances 23. Dave did not play in senior football in 2007/08. |

Andy Tomlinson - midfield - returned for a second spell with Heybridge Swifts in February 2002 after beginning the 2001/02 season at Billericay Town following a loan spell from Swifts at the end of the previous campaign. Previously with Brentwood and Enfield, he moved to Hornchurch in November 2004, making his debut at Arlesey in the FA Trophy. He made 21 appearances, his last being at St Albans City in April 05. He linked up with Tony Choules at Leyton FC for the start of 2005/06, and then joined Maidenhead United. Returned to Hornchurch 2006/07. Urchins debut against Great Wakering 22/8/06, 45 appearances, one goal, at Arlesey. |
