An Urchins quality footballing performance get the season back on track.
Urchins started strongly taking the game to Maldon. They consistantly created moves from the back involving 5/6 players which lead to Alex Clark, Sam Warwick, Alfie Harris and Jack Richardson all going close on occasions.
Urchins also came close to opening their account at corners, with Sam Weir's header saved by the Keeper and Sam Warwick's just going over the crossbar.
On 24 mins Urchins pressure finally paid off when Jack Richardson set Alex Clark on a powerful run which ended with Alex rifling his shot into the back of Maldon's net. 1-0 Urchins.
Urchins continued the first half trying to extend their lead with Jake Brocklebank and Regan Downes controlling the midfield but to no avail, as Maldon defended bravely. HT 1-0 Urchins.
The start of the second half saw Maldon fight in search of the equaliser. However Urchins defence of Toby Harvey, Sam Weir, Ryan Mugera, Ryan Pinkney and Evan Marlow stood strong.
On 52 mins Alex Clark hit the Maldon by-line and laid the ball back to Jack Richardson who smashed the ball home. 2-0 Urchins.
Urchins Keeper Harry Bratton on 58 mins pulled off a top class save, as he tipped a Maldon powerful long range effort over the crossbar.
On 68 mins Sheldon Wade was put clean through, the Maldon Keeper saved his first attempt but could not save his second effort, only for Sheldon to have his goal controversially disallowed for offside.
However Urchins made amends on 71 mins, when Sam Warwick laid the ball on for Jobie Osborne to fire his shot into the right hand top corner. 3-0 Urchins.
A excellent Urchins performance was rounded off on 79 mins, when Jobie Osborne put through Jake Brocklebank who cracked the ball into the back on the net. 4-0 Urchins FT.
