A revitalised Urchins put in a superb team performance to ease into the Third Round of the Ryman League Cup tonight. Rearranged Fixtures versus Tilbury The Urchins will travel to Tilbury on Tuesday 13th November to play their FansFocus.Com Essex Senior Cup Third Round tie. Then the following Tuesday, 20th November, will play hosts to Tilbury in our Ryman League Cup First Round game. |
ccccccccccNorthwood 2 AFC Hornchurch 1 An injury-hit Urchins team bravely bowed out of this season's F.A. Trophy competition this evening. Without SEVEN first team players AFCH found the task a little too tough against their determined Ryman North opponents. Congratulations to Northwood who have earned themselves an away fixture at AFC Wimbledon in the next round. Click HERE for match report |

AFC Hornchurch 2 Northwood 2 Again the Urchins found themselves behind at the break but a second half revival saw goals from Joe Keith and Simon Parker give AFCH a 2-1 lead. However, a late equaliser forced a replay at Northwood next Tuesday. |
Our FansFocus.Com Essex Senior Cup third Round game at Tilbury is therefore postponed. click HERE for match report |

The Urchins bounced back from last Saturday's F.A. Cup disappointment to claim all three points against a very pacey and skilful Tonbridge side. A goal in each half from Kris Lee sealed the points in a very entertaining game. The win lifts AFCH to 9th in the League with games in hand. click HERE for match report |

AFC Hornchurch 0 Team Bath 1
|
At a subdued Bridge Avenue this afternoon The Urchins exited this season's F.A. Cup Competition by virtue of a 59th minute goal from Sean Canham. Sadly AFCH did not do themselves justice today - on a day that really belonged to Harry. Team Bath took their chance and we wish them well in the First Round Proper where they have a home tie against Chasetown. click HERE for match report |

AFC Hornchurch at Home to Team Bath
|
The Urchins have been favoured with a home draw in the 4th Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup and will entertain Team Bath from the SLP on Saturday 27th October. Both teams will consider it a great opportunity to progress to the First Round Proper but with home advantage the Urchins must regard themselves as slight favourites. |

AFC Hornchurch 2 Dulwich Hamlet 1
|
The Urchins are still "living the dream" after a very workmanlike victory against a robust Hamlet side. AFCH had much of the possession and created far more scoring chances but the Dulwich 'keeper made some superb saves to keep the game tight. Dulwich certainly acquitted themselves well but it's The Urchins who go forward to the 4th Qualifying Round - just one game away from a possible away trip to Elland Road in the First Round Proper! click HERE for match report |

Another pulsating game at The Bridge saw the Urchins earn their place in the Third Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup with a 2-1 victory against Ryman Prem. League leaders Hendon. AFCH went in 1-0 down at half time but again showed their character by turning the game around with goals from Harry Elmes and Simon Parker. Our opponents at home on the 13th of October will be Ryman South side Dulwich Hamlet. click HERE for match report |

Urchins away in the FA Cup
|
AFCH have an away trip to Hendon in the Second Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup. Our opponents were decided this evening when Hendon ran out 3-2 victors in their replay at Aveley. Second Qualifying Round matches will be played on Saturday 29th September. |
AFC Hornchurch 3 Cheshunt 1
|
|
![]() |
The Urchins eased into the second qualifying round of the F.A. Cup with what turned out to be a fairly comfortable win against an enterprising Cheshunt side. AFCH took an early lead through a superbly taken goal by m.o.m. Harry Elmes but were pegged back at 1-1 in first half injury time. In the second half |
whilst Cheshunt looked dangerous on the break goals by Kris Lee and a second by Harry Elmes sealed the victory. click HERE for match report |

A crowd of 806 witnessed a very tense game at The Bridge with both 'keepers seeing plenty of action. AFCH showed great character and determination by soaking up much City pressure and it was left to Super Kris Lee to powerfully head the winner in the 74th minute. The Urchins defence was superb and man of the match Richard Goddard was everywhere. City may feel they should |
have got something from the game but they are serious title contenders and will be "up there" at the end of the season. click HERE for match report |
Heybridge Swifts 1 AFC Hornchurch 1 Another encouraging performance saw The Urchins take home a point when it could so easily have (and should have) been all three. AFCH took the lead after 48 minutes with a well-worked strike by Kris Lee resulting from a Joe Keith corner and an assist by Richard Goddard. A catalogue of missed chances followed preventing The Urchins from extending their lead and they were duly punished in the 67th minute through a penalty conversion by Stafford- Browne. So we move forwaed to next Saturday's huge home clash with Title favourites Chelmsford City. It should be an enthralling encounter. click HERE for match report |
AFC Hornchurch 3 Harrow Borough 1 A thoroughly professional workmanlike performance by The Urchins saw them secure all three points and their first home win in this season's campaign. Whilst AFCH never really looked like losing Harrow always made things difficult and played some excellent flowing football on the break. Josh Lennie had a superb game and made several critical saves. Richard Goddard headed The Urchins into a 1-0 interval lead. Michael Brothers hit a powerful second goal and Harry Elmes made it three with a spectacular solo run. Bobby Highton hammered in a consolation goal for Harrow with a teriffic 35 yard effort in the 85th minute. click HERE for match report |
AFC Hornchurch 0 Billericay Town 2 Urchins suffered their first competitive defeat in 37 games going down 2-0 to a lively Billericay Town at The Bridge last night. The Urchins started a little aprehensively but then dominated the first half. Sadly some poor finishing and sheer bad luck prevented AFCH taking a first half lead. 'Ricay then showed their Premier League experience by controlling large parts of the second half and by scoring two superb goals. The Urchins should not lose heart as they will not come up against many better teams this season. This was a very entertaining game watched by a crowd of 1030 - best of the season so far. click HERE for match report |
Ashford Town 4 AFC Hornchurch 5 Urchins claimed all three points in this opening day nine goal thriller. The Urchins began the game in fine style and powered to a 4-1 lead at the interval (after scoring all five goals!) but Ashford came out for the second half all guns blazing to level the score at 4-4. This pulsating game could have gone either way but the ever dependable Simon Parker hit the winner to secure the victory. This really was a game to remember and illustrates how strong this league really is. Ashford showed incredible fighting spirit and visiting sides will under estimate them at their peril. Very nice people and we wish them well. click HERE for match report |

Police Foiled by Urchins The Urchins put in another impressive performance today to claim a 3-0 victory at Ryman South Met. Police. A first half steal by David Lee was followed by second half smash and grab goals from Harry Elmes and Richard Goddard. The |
Police had no clues in breaking down the Urchins defence and on the evidence the victory was well deserved. So now the long wait is nearly over as we move on to Ashford next Saturday. The team have shown excellent form in the pre-season friendlies and look like they can handle anything that is thrown at them. |
Ilford 0 Asa's Aces 4 AFC Hornchurch's Capital League Eastern Champions scored an impressive win in their opening pre-season friendly at Ilford. Shane Oakley gave the Aces a 1-0 lead at half time then second half goals by Ronnie Fletcher, Alex Harris and Richard Halle sealed an inpressive Urchin victory. There is tremendous talent in our Capital League squad and many will be pressing for a first team place during the coming season. |
Urchins Win First Trophy of the Season With their emphatic 5-0 defeat of Leyton Orient The Urchins became the inaugural winners of the Barbara Jones Memorial Cup. |
Rampant Urchins Tame the O's AFC Hornchurch completely outplayed a youthful but spirited Leyton Orient side at The Bridge tonight. Urchins took the lead through Simon Parker with Kris Lee making it 2-0. A brace from Harry Elmes and a scorcher from Michael Brothers gave the Urchins a 5-0 victory and a game to remember. It was a thoroughly professional performance with some excellent finishing. We now move on to Met. Police on Saturday which will be our last friendly before the start of the season. |
![]() |
Urchins Impress at GWR A first half strike by Kris Lee followed by a Mark Janney penalty and a thirty yard screamer from Andy Tomlinson gave the Urchins a deserved 3-0 victory against Great Wakering Rovers, who are never an easy team to beat. Colin and the lads |
have plenty to smile about as we approach our challenging friendly against Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening. |
![]() |
Urchins 1 Ebbsfleet United 1 The Urchins again punch above their weight to earn a very creditable draw against Conference side Ebbsfleet United. A stunning goal by Kris Lee gave the Urchins the lead but Ebbsfleet levelled just before half time. Colin must be very |
pleased with our pre-season performances so far - which bodes well for the approaching Ryman Premier campaign. |
Fisher Athletic 1 Urchins 2 The Urchins claimed the first of hopefully many scalps from higher league opposition this season when they came back from the shock of conceding an early penalty to beat Conference South promotion hopefuls Fisher Athletic in their latest pre-season friendly. Urchin goals were scored by our young triallist Shahed Ahmed and Adam Parker. Another stiff test awaits this coming Saturday when we entertain Conference club Ebbsfleet United. Kick-off 3pm. |
Urchins Clinch Impressive Sponsorship Deal The club are delighted to announce the signing of a new five figure sponsorship agreement for this forthcoming season with the National Estate Agency Spicer Haart. The new strips will carry Haart on the home kit and Spicer McColl on the away shirts. We are hoping to wear the new strip for the Leyton Orient home friendly when the replica shirts will also be available in the club shop. |

Beano at Burnham The Urchins ran out 4-2 victors in a very entertaining game. First half goals by Harry Elmes and Michael Brothers were followed by a second half brace for Ainsley Gasper. A very hospitable welcome by Burnham, as usual, and a good day was had by all. |

The O's are Coming ! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for another pulsating evening when Nationwide First Division Leyton Orient visit Bridge Avenue on Tuesday 7th August. They have promised us a First team line-up so another stiff test awaits |
our lads. Make a note in your diary and come along to cheer on the Mighty Urchins! |
The Hammers Show Their Class The Urchins put up a very spirited fight at The Bridge tonight but found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline. Shane Oakley again hit the net for the Urchins. A lively Hammers team gave our lads a great workout and the Gaffer will no doubt take a lot of positives from the game. This very entertaining game was watched by a healthy crowd of 940. |
Odds Stacked Against the Urchins A prominent high street bookie is offering the very short odds of 9/2 for the Urchins to win promotion to Conference South this season. Obviously our performances over the last two seasons have not gone unnoticed - but 9/2 without a ball being kicked seems daft. |
Urchins Take-Off at Concord The Urchins opened their 2007/08 campaign at Concord Rangers with a fine 2-0 win in the first of their pre-season friendlies. A well taken brace withinn a 5 minute spell by Shane Oakley saw the Ryman Premier side run out victors. Both sides showed spirit and should do well in their respective leagues. Many thanks to Concord Rangers for their very warm and hospitable welcome. |
It's Ashford Town then 'Ricay ! AFC Hornchurch will open their Ryman Premier League programme on Saturday 18th August with an away fixture at Ashford Town. This will be closely followed by our opening home game on Tuesday 21st August when we entertain Billericay Town. |

Urchins v West Ham Utd XI AFC Hornchurch will play a West Ham United XI at The Stadium next Tuesday evening (17th July). Kick-off will be at 7.45pm. and tickets will be on sale later this week. Our apologies to Grays Athletic for the late cancellation of our away fixture. |

Ryman One South but have been transferred to Ryman One North for this coming season. |

Joe Keith Joins the Urchins Talented midfielder Joe Keith joins our ranks after serving such clubs as West Ham, Colchester, Orient and Brentford. Joe's experience will make The Urchins a formidable force in the coming Ryman Premier campaign. |
Ryman Premier Football Next Season The last Act of the groundshare saga was officially played out today (30th May) and the outcome is that AFC Hornchurch will be the only football club in residence at Bridge Avenue next season. The ESL will therefore be deprived of our company as instead we look forward to Ryman Premier football once again. |
