Reds come from behind to snatch last minute win and maintain unbeaten record.
Ok where do I start; this game had everything! We played on a really heavy, muddy pitch and also had added pressure from the gaffer that we couldn't afford to lose!!!!!.
We made an unusually quick start and found ourselves 1-0 up with a well taken goal from Bailey. We made some small changes with Holt coming on, the sticky pitch was causing us problems with our usual slick passing and Shield Academy pounced on this and went into half time with a 3-1 lead.
With a rallying half time team talk , we started well with Arubi pulling one back for us, Shield then scored again with a unstoppable shot. This seemed to galvanise the boys more with Wilson-fowler, Clancy, Tutton and Bailey putting there bodies on the line. This then allowed Johnson to run the midfield and let loose our speedy wingers, Bovill and Welsh to cause havoc. We then scored again with a great move and Arubi strikes, 4-3 game on. We are then in the attack again and hit the bar quickly, then the post and eventually Arubi strikes again 4-4. With only minutes left we break out with Johnson who finds Arubi and with his 'Valencia' style strike smashes the back of the net. 4-5 to Hornchurch.
As stand in coach for Gary I would like to say that the boys showed extreme guts and resilience and quality football to pull this game out the bag. Well done to each and everyone of you.
