Monday 30th August
AFC Hornchurch 2 Wealdstone 1
The Urchins preserved their 100% home league record by claiming all three points against a dangerous Wealdstone team. The Stones took the lead early in the second half but ten minutes later the Urchins were level following a Tommy Black penalty. Then just two minutes later Leon Hunter hit was to be the winner and sent the fans home happy.

Saturday 28th August
Urchins F.A. Cup News
The Urchins will be at HOME to Oxhey Jets of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division in the First Qualifying Round of the F.A. Cup. The tie will be played at Bridge Avenue on Saturday 11th September, k.o. 3pm. The Jets earned the right to play the Urchins with a fine 4-1 victory over St. Margetsbury in today's Preliminary Round. We look forward to their visit.

Friday 27th August
Two New Singings for the Urchins
A big welcome to Ollie Morris-Sanders (goalkeeper) who joins us from Aveley and to Lewis Smith (striker) who joins us from Thurrock. Both players will be available for tomorrow's RPL game vs Kingstonian. Ollie will be excellent cover for Darren Behcet who sadly has broken his wrist and will be out for some time.

Saturday 21st August
AFC Hornchurch 1 Cray Wanderers 0
The Urchins started the new League campaign with a well-deserved home win courtesy of an 11th minute Martin Tuohy goal. It was a confident and energetic Urchins performance and were it not for a hatful of near misses and fine saves from the Wands 'keeper the scoreline could have been much different. The spitit shown by the team in this curtain-raiser bodes well for the new season.

Wednesday 11th August
AFC Hornchurch - Squad Info to Date (More to Follow)
The Club are delighted to confirm the following players have signed for the coming season:-

Darren Behcet, Billy Coyne, Jamie Dormer, Greg Enstone, Tambeson Eyong, Jo Flack, Ronnie Fletcher, Rickie Hayles, Jonathan Hunt, Leon Hunter, Dave McSweeney, Michael Ramkin, Jamie Richards, Paul Shave, Michael Spencer, Elliot Styles, Andy Tomlinson, Martin Tuohy and Ross Wall.

Tuesday 10th August
Pre-Season Friendly - AFC Hornchurch 1 West Ham United XI 2
A packed house of around 1100 were treated to a very fast flowing and entertaining game. Jamie Richards gave the Urchins the lead on 39 minutes but two second half goals earned the Hammers the victory. However, Hornchurch will consider they were unlucky not to earn a draw as they controller the game for long periods in the first half. The Management team must be well pleased with the way the squad is playing, demonstrating both confidence and composure. We look forward to the League campaign with great anticipation.

Saturday 7th August
Urchins Boost Strike Force (from Ryman League Website)
JIMMY McFARLANE, manager of Premier Division Hornchurch, has given his striking options a further boost by agreeing terms with prolific scorer Martin Tuohy.
The Ryman League's Golden Boot winner in 2008-09 scored 39 Division One North goals for East Thurrock and over 50 in all competitions, Tuohy joined Aveley last season and netted 24 times in the Premier Division as Millers finished in a shock third place.
He was one of a number of players who followed manager Rod Stringer to Conference South club Braintree in the summer but was released last week.
McFarlane has already brought former Hornchurch strikers Jamie Richards and Rikki Burbridge back to Bridge Avenue, while Jo Flack is nearing full fitness after missing the closing stages of the 2009-10 campaign.

Tuesday 3rd August
Essex Senior Cup Final - AFC Hornchurch 1 Colchester United 2
The Urchins battled hard in a cracking game against a very strong Colchester side which included no less than ten full-time professionals. After the Urchins took the lead on 50 minutes the home crowd were hopeful but in the end fitness told and two goals from substitue Freddie Lapado sealed it for the U's. Congratulations to Colchester and many thanks for sending such a strong squad making it a very entertaining evening. Congratulations too, to the Urchins who battled superbly and made us all so proud.
